After lots of test baking, I’ve finally nailed the perfect Lussebullar recipe—soft saffron buns with your choice of two heavenly fillings: creamy Almond Vanilla Praline or bright, zesty Vanilla Orange.
If you want buns that hold their shape beautifully, go for the Almond Vanilla Praline. The Vanilla Orange is just as delicious but trickier to work with since it melts a bit when shaping.
This recipe is also super easy to make vegan! I’ll be baking them one more time to perfect the bun shape, but this version is already too good not to share.
